Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Peninsula Team Radio Net – Visitors Welcome
Jun. 5 @ 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The Pierce County ARES Peninsula Team in support of county, state and Federal agencies stands ready to provide emergency radio communications for the Gig Harbor region in the event of disaster which damages or destroys communication infrastructure. Peninsula Team members routinely participate in statewide emergency communication exercises and conduct weekly VHF/UHF radio training nets (voice and digital) in order to be prepared to accomplish their mission.
ALL regional amateur radio operators are not only welcome but encouraged to check in to the Peninsula Team’s weekly voice net as visitors Mondays at 7:00 PM on the KA7EOC repeater (145.350 MHz, negative offset, PL tone 103.5). This repeater and the Peninsula Team, operating at Fire District 5 HQ (PMACC), serve as your organized link to emergency services during a comms down disaster so give them a try and be prepared to support your family and community with emergency communications during a calamity. Check in instructions are provided by the net control operator at the beginning of each radio net.
