Achievements/Activities: When asked what she feels her greatest achievements were, Riley notes, “I have always loved the arts and music. My passion for music has led me to many of my achievements.” Whether it be picking up the trumpet at age nine or starting the Jazzy Gals, Riley always has her hands in something music oriented. Her love of music has even led her to sacrifice her lunch hour, taking choir during lunch to be able to sing with a group she loves – even though she will receive no academic credit for the class. All that aside though, and Riley says, “my biggest accomplishment has been finding good people to surround myself with and uplift. I’ve done a lot for them, but I think they’ve done even more for me. My friends, family, teachers, and peers have inspired me, cared for me, and truly helped me develop into who I am today.”

Favorite Teacher: “My favorite teacher is Mrs. Hilborn. Mrs. Hilborn has been my band director for my entire high school career and has helped me to discover my passion for music. I always loved music, but she took my love to a whole new level. She has helped me overcome many of my insecurities and always has my back. She’s honest, dedicated, caring, and one of the finest music educators that I know!”

Best thing about high school: “The best thing about Peninsula High School is the variety of opportunities and activities offered to the student body. As somebody who has many hobbies and interests, I’ve enjoyed participating in many sports, arts, and clubs while at Peninsula High School.”
