Police seek suspect in robbery of Point Fosdick Drive bank

A heavily disguised suspect robbed the Umpqua Bank on Point Fosdick Drive in Gig Harbor on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 4, according to Gig Harbor police.

The suspect entered the bank at about 4:50 p.m. and announced “this is a robbery.” He did not display any weapons.

Witnesses told police the suspect sounded male.

He left the bank on foot. Footage from surveillance cameras outside the bank and a track by a police dog led investigators to believe that the suspect may have walked to a vehicle pre-positioned on the eastbound lanes or offramp of Highway 16 near Olympic Drive, close to the bank.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, though images from bank surveillance footage raised questions about the suspect’s gender. He was last seen wearing a pink stocking cap, black jacket, pink hospital scrubs and blue gloves.

Anyone with information about the suspect, or who may have seen a vehicle stashed along that stretch of Highway 16 on Tuesday afternoon, should call Det. Daniel at (253) 853-8259.

The robbery occurred just over a year after a robbery at the nearby Umpqua Bank on 56th St. Police arrested a suspect in that robbery in 2022.
