Jim Hagman of Gig Harbor went home to be with his Father in heaven on Father’s Day, June 15.

Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years Candy, his son Aaron, his daughter Sarah, and his granddaughters, Evangeline and Nina. He also leaves behind his brother Keith (Mandy), his sisters Robin (Don) and Karen (Pete), and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Hackensack, NJ, and raised in Park Ridge, NJ, Jim then attended Taylor University and graduated from Griffin College. He and his lifetime love, Candy, met while serving with the missions organization, YWAM, an organization they were involved with throughout their lives. Jim owned and operated Hagman Computer Services, blessing many people with his kindness and patience.

An avid baseball player, Jim and his brother Keith, were standouts on the Park Ridge high school baseball team. Later in life, he played in adult leagues and a few 60 and over baseball tournaments in Florida. Jim coached and refereed countless soccer games, ran for public office, was involved in the community, and was active in his chamber of commerce Pillars group. Jim served faithfully in his local church (Harborview Fellowship), teaching fourth and fifth graders, and involved in several Bible study groups. He was a lifetime servant of his Lord Jesus Christ.

Jim was known for his hard work ethic, sense of humor, servant’s heart, compassion, and convictions. He had a fun sense of adventure, a wildly competitive spirit, and a gift for acquiring free samples and refills. We were all blessed by his unwavering faith and love for family.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 12th at Harborview Fellowship at 10:00am, 4819 Hunt St. NW Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Immediately followed by simple coffee & tea refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Jim to a ministry that was close to the heart of both Jim and Candy called YWAM’s New Beginnings Homes for unwed mothers. Donations can be made at newbeginningshome.org.
