Kitsap County prosecutors charged a 19-year-old man with drive-by shooting and assault after he allegedly fired nearly two dozen shots at two locations in Olalla on Saturday, June 28.

Documents filed in Kitsap County Superior Court allege that the same man — Alfredo Linares of Olalla — assaulted a woman in Bremerton a few hours later.

Several people called 911 around 10:20 p.m. to report shots being fired from a vehicle on the 12900 block of Hadfield Road SE, which is off of Burley-Olalla Road. More people called about 10 minutes later to report the same at Olalla Food Center, a convenience store and gas station near Olalla Elementary School. No one was injured in the shootings.

Witnesses in the area of Hadfield Road told deputies they recognized the sound of the car, which had a “loud muffler” similar to Linares’s vehicle.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 29, a witness reported seeing a man assaulting a woman near a school on National Avenue in Bremerton. The victim in that incident, a 19-year-old woman, later told deputies that Linares pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot her before kicking and hitting her about 20 times in the head.

Another witness contacted deputies to report that Linares had posted on the social media app Snapchat, “bragging about the incident at Olalla Foods Market.” The witness told deputies that Linares posted Ring camera footage of deputies at his house and of him listening to a police scanner app.

Linares later surrendered to deputies, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office.

Prosecutors charged Linares with two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of second-degree aggravated assault.
