Randall schedules four town halls, including in Tacoma on Aug. 19
U.S. Rep. Emily Randall, D-Bremerton, will host a series of town halls in the coming weeks, starting with one on Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Tacoma.
About 400 people attended her previous Tacoma town hall, on March 7 at Hilltop Heritage Middle School. An overflow crowd showed up the next day at Olympic College in Bremerton, forcing Randall to stage a second event to accommodate people with questions.
The upcoming Tacoma event begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 19. The freshman congresswoman’s office has not announced a specific location.
“Event details will be shared to those who RSVP’d 48 hours in advance in accordance with security guidance,” according to her office’s events page.
Doors for the Tacoma event will open at 5:15 p.m. In March, a line started forming an hour ahead of the scheduled start time.

Congress in recess
Congress is typically in recess during August. Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, sent members home a couple days early in July, reportedly to avoid a fight over releasing files pertaining to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The break affords Randall and other members of Congress an opportunity to hear from constituents, though the RSVP form warns that town halls could be held virtually if she needs to return to the capital.
In March, constituents asked Randall about DOGE, Medicaid, Social Security and other issues. They questioned whether Democrats in Congress were doing enough to resist the Trump administration.
Other town halls
The Aug. 19 event is the only one in the Pierce County portion of Randall’s Sixth Congressional District. She also scheduled town halls in these communities:
Kingston: 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29
Sequim: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6
Elma: 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24
Locations were not announced for those town halls, either.

An RSVP does not guarantee you a seat at the event. Randall’s office advises people to arrive early.
