Letter to the Editor | Who foots the bill for new developments?
I don’t know if anyone else has concerns regarding the roundabout at Burnham and Borgan that feeds to both a freeway on-ramp and exit. There seems to be accidents on a very regular basis as it stands now.
How is this poorly engineered road going to support all of Rush’ s development? Are we going to have to “improve “ what exists and if so who is going to pay, please not the taxpayers … again.
It is my understanding, and correct me if I’m incorrect, that we are waiving taxes on these units for 10 years, as an “incentive.” Seriously! I understand the GMA mandates “affordable housing,” however it does not mandate that the current resident taxpayers foot the bill. That is on your city council and mayor. If the goal is to tax people out of their homes, great you’ve accomplished it.
