Wayne Lyle Wetterau, born July 27, 1941, in Wausa, Wisconsin, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 84.

Wayne was the son of Lyle and Harriet Wetterau and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathi (Heater) Wetterau, and together they built a life grounded in love, hard work, and a strong faith. Kathi preceded him in death ten years ago, and he missed her deeply.

Wayne spent his working years in print shops, later owning a shoe store, The Shoe Rack, in Wisconsin Rapids,WI and eventually operating Mom & Pop’s Cleaning Service, a cleaning and detailing business he ran with pride. No matter the work, Wayne believed in showing up fully and leaving things better than he found them.

He had a lifelong love of race cars, baseball, real ice cream, collecting BB guns, picking estate sales, and finding vintage treasures—often with the joy of sharing those finds with others. Wayne had a natural gift for making people laugh and putting people at ease, even if he had to tease you a little. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. Wayne was an avid participant in his cherished coffee talks at Cutters Point, where friendship and conversation were always on the menu.

Wayne was generous with his time and talents, quietly serving others and offering help wherever it was needed. His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his daughters, Penny Jo Quinnell and Wendy Lunt; his grandchildren, Alex Lunt and Danni Robinson; and his great-grandchildren, Charlie Robinson and Bear Robinson.

Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathi Wetterau; his parents, Lyle and Harriet Wetterau; and his brother, Randy Wetterau. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Mom, together again in heaven. We will miss you, Dad – Pops – Papa Oldie. Have a heavenly ice cream & a coffee with Mom as we celebrate you!
