Del Woock
Artist and Traveler
September 23, 1927 – February 3, 2026
Del Woock passed away in Gig Harbor, Washington, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, curiosity, and enduring love.
Born in Lodi, California, Del lived a full and adventurous life shaped by service, learning, art, and deep human connection. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, an experience that broadened his worldview and deepened his appreciation for other cultures. After returning home, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in engineering.
In 1999, Del and his wife, Jeni Ager Woock, visited Gig Harbor and immediately fell in love with this special town. They moved their lives and business here that same year, making Gig Harbor their forever home. Del and Jeni shared 40 years of marriage, including 34 years working side by side as full-time artists at Woock Studio. Their partnership was one of creativity, devotion, laughter, and deep respect — living and loving together every day.
For more than three decades, Del expressed his remarkable talent as a jewelry and wood artist. His work reflected patience, meticulous craftsmanship with exotic woods, and a quiet joy that resonated with all who encountered it. He was often seen walking the streets of Gig Harbor with his rescued best friend, Spotz, greeting neighbors with a warm smile and genuine interest in their lives.
Del was a lifelong and powerful snow skier, an enthusiastic bridge player, an avid world traveler, and a natural connector of people. Together, Del and Jeni traveled throughout the United States and visited more than 68 countries. Del delighted in exploring new places and meeting fellow travelers who quickly became friends. Kind, empathetic, and endlessly curious, he had a rare gift for making others feel truly seen and valued.
Del was preceded in death by his beloved son, Scott Woock. He is survived by his wife, Jeni Ager Woock; his daughter, Sharon Baltzell; his granddaughter, Lauren Davis; two great-granddaughters; his sister, Wanda Bechtold; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
To remember Del Woock is to remember hope and positivity — even in the most difficult moments. Though deeply missed, his family and friends will forever carry forward the smiles, warmth, and optimism he so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County in Del’s memory.
