Sara Lynne Chistensen, 47

It is with great sadness that the family of Sara Lynne Christensen announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the age of 47. Sara was born in Tacoma, Washington, on June 27, 1978. She grew up in Gig Harbor and graduated from Peninsula High School in 1996 followed by a bachelor’s degree from Seattle University in 2000.

An avid singer who always found music to connect to the story of her life. A lover of pop culture and pop music, Sara could never get enough of Debbie Gibson, New Kids on the Block, or the Spice Girls. Whether it was debating the best director of the ’90s, quoting Buffy the Vampire verbatim, or analyzing the hidden meanings in a Beatles album, She brought a contagious energy to every pop culture conversation.

Sara will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Len Christensen (Helen), Julie Bowers (Dean), and Marie Carney (John). As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Chris and Claudia Christensen, and her Grandparents Clarence and Pearl Petersen.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Gig Harbor Eagles on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests a potluck item for the celebration.
