Janet Louise Carlson, 97

Janet Louise Carlson entered the courts of heaven peacefully on March 24, 2026 at the age of 97. She was vibrant up until the last few days of her life and spent her final hours with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by her side. Janet is survived by her daughters, Merrilee and husband Jim Lyle; Deanna and husband Chap Clark; her stepson Dave and wife Amy Carlson; her 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Janet was born on December 30, 1928, to Florence and Bob Young in Seattle, WA.

Given all of Jan’s many accomplishments, her greatest treasure in life was always her family. She invested deeply in each person’s life, sharing her love for Christ and demonstrating a faith that was full of service, humility, joy and faithful devotion.

Jan loved to laugh, loved to celebrate, loved surprises, loved the beach, sunshine, flowers, and butterflies, and most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus.

Jan’s life verse was Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust in Him and He will act on your behalf.” Through the highs and lows of Jan’s life her hope was always in the Lord and she was quick to give Him all the glory for the things she was able to overcome, accomplish and experience.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service honoring Jan on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 at Bethany Presbyterian Church at 4420 N. 41st Street, Tacoma WA. Bethany is the church that Jan was baptized in as an infant and one that dates back several generations in Jan’s family.
