Carol Joy Russell, 90

Carol J. Russell, of Fox Island and later Gig Harbor, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Tacoma, she was a beloved teacher at Lowell Elementary School for many years, known for her kindness, patience and encouragement.

Carol loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She found joy in her flowers, watching eagles soar over her Fox Island home, and the peaceful water views. She also shared her love of flowers through her church, helping care for the pots outside Peninsula Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry Russell; her children, Lynn Cole and Shannon Russell-White; their spouses; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed.
