Carolyn Louise Greaves (Kelley), 86

Carolyn Louise Greaves (Kelley) passed away peacefully and gently on Sept 8th, 2026 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor at age 86.

She was born in Silverdale on March 5th, 1940, and grew up right in the heart of Silverdale on a farm where the Kitsap Mall now stands. She enjoyed her farm life upbringing and often reminisced about playing with her siblings and cousins. After graduating from Central Kitsap High School in 1958, life took her to Seattle, Germany, Montana, Maryland, California, Texas, Virginia and back home to Washington where she spent her final 40 years on Fox Island.

She married William Kelley and had two children, Ann Humes and Daniel Kelley. She worked in various fields, primarily the medical industry, a stint as a deli owner, and was active in the Red Cross. She had a very nice long run of enjoying Fox Island with her pets, reading, cooking and tranquil maritime life. She was an avid reader and we made sure that she had her Kindle in hand as she passed away. She had a long string of very beloved pets. Within a month of passing away, she expressed the desire of getting herself another kitten with no anticipation at all that her time was short.

She never would have wanted to leave her life and never knew that she would, and her family is grateful for that. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Ellen Greaves, her brother William Greaves, and her cousins Jan Bush and Marilyn Graddon. She is survived by her siblings; Lawrence Greaves, Linda Philpott and Donna Russell, her children Ann Humes and Daniel Kelley, and her granddaughters Nicole Jas and Natalie Jas who will remember her fondly.
