For those about to rock, Hair Nation salutes you
Deciding, “No, we’re not gonna take it!” people found ways to twist and squeeze into the already-packed Skansie Brothers Park on the evening of Aug. 11 to listen, dance, and sing along to Hair Nation’s performance. The ’80s rock tribute band played the third-to-last concert of the city’s annual Summer Sounds event.

A variety of musical groups graced the park’s pavilion stage this season. Opening the summer this year was the 133D Army Band, while local and regional bands sprinkled the lineup throughout. Local cover band The Mixed Tape was the only returning group from 2025, while fellow local cover band, The Shy Boys and a Girl, took to the Summer Sounds stage for the first time this year.
Next week, Grays Harbor-based Brian James Was Here will take to the stage to perform country covers and originals, while Non Jovi, an Aerosmith — just kidding, a Bon Jovi tribute band, will close out the season on Aug. 25.
Summer Sounds concerts start at 6 p.m. Tuesdays through the end of August at Skansie Park.
