Several local parks will get their annual spring cleaning from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3, as the city of Gig Harbor and PenMet Parks join forces for Parks Appreciation Day. Volunteers can help clean up trails, remove invasive vegetation and plant native trees and shrubs at the following locations:

  • Crescent Creek Park
  • Soundview Forest
  • Wilkinson Farm Park
  • Narrows Park
  • Fox Island DeMolay Sandspit Nature Preserve
  • Rotary Bark Park
  • Sehmel Homestead Park

Volunteers should bring work gloves, loppers or trimmers and a water bottle. Power tools are not permitted.

PenMet volunteers and staff members plant a tree on Parks Appreciation Day.
