New Fall Farmers Market welcomes familiar locals and a few new faces

The late-day light spilled into the parking lot of B’s Butters and Bagels, bathing the small-but-bustling farmers market in hints of autumn gold. The evening of Sept. 8 kicked off the first market of the year for the new Fall Farmers Market, which will run every Tuesday through the end of September.

The market, put on by the Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance, began filling up almost immediately after it opened at 4 p.m. Visitors could find new faces amid the familiar ones of local makers and farmers from the summer’s Waterfront Farmers Market. Vendors sold an eclectic mix of items, from fungi and fruit to honey and hand posies, while musician Ava Lin played music for market attendees and vendors.

The market will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays in September at B’s Butters and Bagels, 3308 Uddenberg Lane. On Fall Farmers Market days, B’s Butters and Bagels will stay open until 7 p.m.
