4.2 magnitude earthquake rattles Gig Harbor area

A minor earthquake jolted the Gig Harbor area at 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.2 magnitude quake, about 5 kilometers northwest of Wauna. USGS said it was about 28 kilometers deep.

While there were no immediate reports of damage, people on social media reported feeling the temblor as far away as Seattle and Olympia.
