Sun comes out to play — and so do the dogs — at Harbor Hounds 2025
Dogs and the obedient humans they led around Skansie Brothers Park had a doggone good time at the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday’s 21st annual Harbor Hounds fundraiser on Sept. 6. The fundraiser supports local charities and scholarships.

Several canines came in costume — a few making a showing in the Best Dressed Contest — and many made new friends, while some sat a little shyly to the side with their parents. Everyone was Very Good, indeed.
Other happy hounds trotted about the park, hoping for a handout from vendor booths like Uptown Animal Hospital and the Prison Pet Partnership. Still more dove muzzle-first into treats from B’s Bagels & Butters pop-up stand near the DJ (who later provided the music for the Musical Sit and Stay Contest).
Mayor Mary Barber bestowed Cassie, a very sweet curly girl bedecked with yellow bows, with this year’s Top Dog award.
