Three Peninsula High staff members placed on administrative leave 

Peninsula School District has placed three Peninsula High School staff members on administrative leave pending an investigation, according to a letter the district sent to sent to PHS families and staff late Monday afternoon.

The letter does not provide information about allegations or the positions held by the three staffers. Chief of Schools Michael Farmer replied to Gig Harbor Now’s request for more details in an email, stating: “We are unable to comment further at this time but will share more information as we are able.”

The email to families and staff is titled, “Important update about PHS.”

“This message is to inform you that three staff members have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, in accordance with the district’s standard protocols,” the letter states. “We are unable to share further details at this time, and we cannot provide a specific timeline for completion of the investigation.” 

“We understand that situations like this may cause concern and appreciate your understanding,” the letter continues. “Please know that the district remains committed to the safety and well-being of all students and staff and to addressing this matter fairly, thoroughly, and as promptly as possible.”

The letter is signed simply, “PHS Leadership.”
