Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One firefighters at the scene of a house fire on Ford Drive early on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Firefighters arriving on scene found smoke and flames in the front porch of the home and vehicles parked in the driveway. GHFMO put the fire out fast enough that help on the way from South Kitsap Fire was canceled while en route.

Firefighters rescued a cat who lived at the residence. The cat, according to a GHFMO social media post, “wanted NOTHING to do with our firefighters,” who returned it to its owner.
