A quiet campaign in the Sixth Congressional District
Freshman U.S. Rep. Emily Randall is facing a largely unknown challenger in her bid for a second term in Congress representing Washington’s Sixth District.
Randall, D-Bremerton, won nearly 60% of the vote during the August Primary, besting four challengers. Runner-up Teresa Fox, a Republican from Bremerton, will join the incumbent on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.
The winner will represent Washington’s Sixth Congressional District, which spans the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas, including Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula, plus part of Tacoma.
Gig Harbor Now reached out to both campaigns with a list of questions seeking comment ahead of the general election. Neither responded.

Randall looks to win second term
Voters elected Randall to Congress in 2024 to replace longtime Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, who did not seek reelection. Voters chose Randall over fellow a state legislator, Sen. Drew MacEwen, R-Shelton.
Randall, raised outside Port Orchard, worked for health and education nonprofits, including Planned Parenthood, before she won election to the state Senate in 2018.
Fox, her challenger, has no elected experience and has made few statements to the media.

Teresa Fox
She declined an interview request from Gig Harbor Now this summer, saying her campaign does not engage with “outlets or organizations that have demonstrated patterns of bias, misinformation, or activities undermining law enforcement and our laws.” She also declined to speak with the Seattle Times Editorial Board this month.
Ballots must be postmarked or returned to a dropbox by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday Nov. 3.
