Three people were injured in a four-car crash on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 11, on the westbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The collision blocked lanes for more than 90 minutes.

Just after 1 p.m., a Toyota Camry headed west across the old bridge rear-ended a BMW in the car pool lane, according to a Washington State Patrol report. The impact shoved the BMW into a Chevy Silverado pickup towing a trailer in the third lane. Another Silverado pulling a trailer behind the Toyota hit debris and sustained damage.

The Camry and BMW were totaled. The other truck-trailer combo also sustained damaged. The 19-year-old Fife woman driving the Camry and her two teen passengers were taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor for their injuries. Nobody else was hurt.

The driver was cited for an undisclosed violation, according to the State Patrol. Drugs and alcohol weren’t involved. The cause is being investigated.
