Gig Harbor graduate Michael Toglia is on the cusp of the Major Leagues after the Colorado Rockies prospect was promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque this week.

He was promoted to Albuquerque on Tuesday, Aug. 9, and promptly homered in his first game for the Isotopes.

Toglia played college baseball at UCLA, hitting 33 home runs in three seasons before being drafted 23rd overall in the 2019 draft by the Rockies. He is the No. 9 prospect in the Rockies’ organization, according to MLB.com.

Toglia and the Isotopes visit Tacoma for a six-game series against the Rainiers Aug. 16-21.
