Funeral Home Details:

Washington

Lois was born in Salem, Oregon to Harold and Helen Young. She was the middle child between 2 sisters,
Nadine Burke of Las Vegas, NV and Peggy Sampson of Port Orchard, WA. She grew up in the Puget
Sound area, raised her family in California and eventually settled in Vancouver, WA. She graduated from
Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, WA in 1957.

Shortly thereafter, she moved to San Diego, CA and worked for Boeing. She later moved to San Jose, CA where she raised her family and worked many years for ADP. In the mid 80’s, Lois and her husband, Loren Sherman, moved back to the Northwest and worked in Property Management for over 30 years. She continued to work full-time until she was 80 years old, when COVID forced her to stay home and she began an intensive treatment for lung disease.

Lois was a strong woman, determined to exceed anyone’s expectations. She was honest,
straightforward, generous and a great friend. She was always reading, played an awesome game of
Canasta and bragged about having over 40,000 games of solitaire on her tablet. She was an avid
Seahawks fan and loved watching most sports on TV.

She was granted her final wish when her body was accepted at OHSU’s Body Donation Program. Her hope was they could learn more about Poland Syndrome, an affliction she was born with that was most noticeable in her right hand.

She is missed everyday and is survived by her daughters, Tamara Jeans and Stefani Griggs of Vancouver, WA and Carolyn Floyd of San Diego, CA, her son-in-law’s Jim Jeans and Al Floyd, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
