Letter to the Editor: Support the Minds Act to address mental health crisis

Posted on January 15th, 2024 By: Natalie Zorich

I am writing to express my sincere concern and advocacy for mental health in international development and humanitarian settings. Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, I urge you to co-sponsor the Minds Act (The Mental Health in International Development and Humanitarian Settings Act) to address the critical need for mental health support in these challenging environments.

As the world continues to grapple with various crises, from conflict and displacement to natural disasters and public health emergencies, the mental health of individuals affected by these circumstances often takes a backseat. The Minds Act is a crucial initiative that aims to prioritize and enhance mental health services in international development and humanitarian efforts.

I urge you, Senators Cantwell and Murray, to champion the Minds Act and lend your influential voices to this critical cause. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals who are often overlooked in the midst of crises.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope to see your names proudly associated with the Minds Act as co-sponsors, advocating for a brighter and healthier future for those in the most vulnerable situations.

Sincerely,

Natalie Zorich
