Letter to the Editor | Article had harsh, critical tone
Chapin Day’s recent article about the vintage racing sailboat, Katrina Finkelsplatt, struck me as a mean-spirited exercise. Rather than presenting a balanced view, Day appeared intent on depicting both the caring, responsible owner as well as the caretakers of the boat and the historic sailboat itself in the worst possible light. This negative portrayal did a disservice to the individuals involved and to the legacy of the sailboat itself. Instead, Day used his article to lavish compliments on his drone enthusiast friend Joel.
Overall, the article’s tone seemed unduly harsh and critical, almost as if Scrooge himself had taken up the keyboard for this piece.
