Letter to the Editor | Prepare for more gridlock in downtown Gig Harbor
Oh great. Now that they got Jeni (Woock) out of the way, the realtor/developers on our city council are already starting to plan multi-family housing projects in the Judson Street area and wanting to put in a stormwater runoff park to prepare for it.
I have absolutely NO confidence in our city planners or city council that they are going to fix the infrastructure around Judson Street to provide for the increased traffic that their multi-housing project is going to cause.
They tried this many years ago and we expelled the city council and mayor that was all for the project because we knew what a mess it was going to make of our downtown. And we knew that they weren’t going to do anything about fixing the roads to provide for more traffic.
And that’s what I’m worried about now. They’re just going to let the developers build the multi family housing units, bypass the height setbacks, and get their money and run. And we are going to be stuck with even more gridlock and more traffic nightmares in downtown Gig Harbor than we have now.
