Gig Harbor Women’s Co-op Celebrates the Grand Opening of The Nest
On Saturday, June 22nd from 4–9 PM, the Gig Harbor Women’s Co-op is celebrating the grand opening of its new community space, The Nest, located at 3906 SE 160th St in Gig Harbor.
GHWC is a grassroots nonprofit built on mutual aid and time banking, helping women connect, sharing skills, and supporting one another with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking, childcare, gardening, and more. In addition to community service, the co-op hosts regular social events and gatherings that foster connection and belonging.
The Nest is the co-op’s new creative gathering space, located next to its large community garden. It’s a place for workshops, shared meals, and creative expression equipped with tools and supplies for hands-on projects. “This space brings women together to focus on their shared experiences and triumphs, and facilitates their knowledge and growth . . . I cannot wait to hear the echoes of their laughter throughout the space in the years to come,” wrote member Jess Almeida.
The event will begin with an informal, family-friendly meet-and-greet (with member provided potluck). Guests can explore the space and community garden, ask questions, and purchase raffle tickets or place bids in a silent auction. After the ribbon cutting, attendees will enjoy a lively fundraising game of Bunco.
The fundraiser is open to all, and women interested in becoming members are encouraged to attend. Membership is completely free!
