Election certification confirms results in Nov. 5 balloting
The closest local race in the November 2025 election was a Peninsula School Board contest between Matthew Bruhn and Emily DuCharme.
Bruhn won by just 190 votes out of nearly 27,000 cast — 0.71 percentage points. He was ahead by 2.25 percentage points on election night, but ballots received in subsequent days trended toward DuCharme.
Bruhn will replace Jennifer Butler, who did not seek re-election, on the school board.
The Washington Secretary of State’s Office and the Pierce County Elections Division certified the Nov. 5 election on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Every candidate who led their race on election night went on to win.
Following are official results of the election. The next time Gig Harbor-area voters will get ballots is Feb. 10, when they will decide on a Peninsula School District replacement levy request.
