Harbor Happenings: Get out on the water with Pier Into the Night, Dock Walk

Posted on February 20th, 2024 By:

There are plenty of options this week for entertainment, education and civic engagement.

Join Harbor WildWatch at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7Seas Brewery for Pier into the Night, and see what’s lurking in the waters below the dock. Divers carry cameras into the harbor, while staff biologists and trained volunteers interpret what they show for people gathered on the dock. 7Seas is at 2005 Harborview Dr.

Harbor WildWatch also hosts a Dock Walk starting at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23. A Harbor WildWatch naturalist leads a 30-minute walk along Jerisich Dock to discuss the many species of sea life that call Gig Harbor home. Jerisich Dock is at 3215 Harborview Dr.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, WildWatch hosts a Wildside Walk starting at 10 a.m. at Skansie Brothers Park. A WildWatch Naturalist will lead a four-stop tour along the waterfront, ending at the Old Ferry Landing after about a half-mile walk.

Pier into the Night and Dock Walk are free, but donations are accepted. Suggested donations are $2 per person or $5 per family.
