The 2026 general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. And judging by a ballot-return report produced by the Pierce County Elections Office, many voters are still making up their minds.

Community stories are made possible in part by Peninsula Light Co, a proud sponsor of Gig Harbor Now.
As of last week, only about 12% had returned their ballots. That’s in line with previous years, and the county still projects a 70% turnout of some 600,000 registered voters.
Voters have until 8 p.m. on election day to place their ballots in a drop box. If sent through the mail, ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3. In the Gig Harbor area, drop boxes are located here:
- Gig Harbor Library, 4424 Point Fosdick Dr.
- Nichols Community Center, 690 Ninth Ave., Fox Island
- Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St.
- Purdy Park and Ride, 14567 Purdy Dr.
- Lake Kathryn Food Market, 14220 92nd Ave., Wauna
- Key Center Food Market, 9021 Key Peninsula Hwy., Lakebay
