In girls soccer, Gig Harbor defeats Peninsula to advance to the district title game on Saturday, Nov. 8. Both the Tides and Seahawks have already qualified for state.
Gig Harbor defeated Capital, 15-14, while Peninsula upended Bellarmine, 33-13.
Both local football teams should be squarely in the state Class 3A playoff picture if they can secure wins in Puget Sound League cross-divisional games on Saturday, Nov. 1. Both teams won on Oct. 24.
