Letter to the editor: Impressed by PenMet’s board, staff

Posted on October 18th, 2023 By: Joan Storkman

Gig Harbor is fortunate to have PenMet Parks Director, Board and staff who are extremely skilled, professional and deeply care about our community and have presented us with a solid financial plan for the future of our parks.

My family has lived in Gig Harbor since the 1940’s and as our community has grown, so has the need for parks and facilities.  In my many interactions with PenMet, I feel they are a tremendously skilled and professional team:  Director, Ally Bujacich (a PHS grad), the PenMet Board, and the staff could not be more qualified or committed to our community.

I was fortunate to be a part of the committee to investigate and pursue options for an aquatic facility.  This committee was professionally organized, reviewed all options presented by community pool professionals, and our committee came to a unanimous consensus.  I believe that PenMet Parks is leading us thoughtfully into the future—for my grandchildren and beyond.  I hope you’ll join me in choosing to support PenMet’s levy renewal–for the future of our community.
